A quick note to give you the heads up that for a couple of weeks Morrisons have another 25% discount on six or more French, Italian or Spanish wines.

It’s been time for me to stock up a bit on my favourite St Chinian and Barbera D’Asti wines for the cupboard.  So in the picture there is the ever-reliable Seigneur de Salvanhiac St Chinian AOC, Special Reserve 2009 (currently half price at £4.99); and a Bricco Garelli Barbera D’Asti DOC, Superiore 2007 (not on offer itself; priced at £6.99).

Also in the picture are a Le Petiole Ventoux Rouge 2010 (half-price at £4.99) and a Mont Tauch Les Signatures Minervois 2010 (also not on offer; priced at £7.99).  We tried the Ventoux with a summer salad and a piece of baked salmon.  It benefits from decanting (for the oxygen; there’s no sediment) and Ruth was a bit more keen on it than I was. 

I’m intrigued to try the Minervois.  I have known about Mont Tauch’s Fitou, and I think it has done well at competitions, but I hadn’t known that the stable was extending, and am interested to try more of their Languedoc offerings (as it’s a favourite wine-producing area of mine)…
